
Mandate
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is tasked with promoting peace and order, ensuring public safety, and strengthening local governance across the Philippines. Its mandate includes supervising local government units (LGUs) to ensure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations, as well as providing technical assistance and capacity-building support to enhance LGU performance. The DILG also oversees the implementation of programs related to community development, disaster preparedness, and grassroots participation, with a focus on empowering LGUs to deliver effective and responsive public services to their constituents.
